Public Lives
one-act
2m, 2f
Prime Minister Jane Fox and Leader of the Opposition Brian Gray are political adversaries whose animosity culminates in Jane throwing water at Brian during PMQs. They unexpectedly run into one another at a hotel in France, igniting a passionate love affair. Risking scandal, they decide to run off to Paris, abandoning their spouses, Michael and Susan, only to have their romantic hideaway invaded by the jilted pair. "Public Lives" is a variation on Noel Coward’s classic, exploring whether such a very public romance can survive the messy realities of their private lives.
