Froth
Erica believes there’s got to be more in life than serving overly-fastidious customers in a café and watching British mysteries with her mom. So she decides to change her life by planning to move into an apartment with her slightly mental friend, Nicole, sleeping with her soft-spoken co-worker, Theo, and falling for the new employee, Christian.
Froth was produced, in an earlier version, at the Beckman Stages in New York City. It has since been radically rewritten as both a new play and an 8-part limited TV series.
Eulogy for an Insignificant Man
A shortened radio-play version received a Commendation from the BBC International Radio Play Contest.
Stanley travels to New Mexico for his father’s funeral, expecting to receive an inheritance. When all he inherits is junk, however, he turns in desperation to his mother for help.
Old Standards
Christmas Day, 1969. Abby returns to her family home for Christmas dinner without her husband, Stanley. Her parents question his absence and she reveals that she’s left him. Stanley shows up uninvited, however, and tries to win her back.
Conversation After a Film
Ian and Craig are old friends who have been meeting for years to watch films together and discuss them afterwards. On one particular evening, Ian reveals his intentions to completely alter his life, which Craig sees as part of a self-destructive pattern.
In the vein of My Dinner With Andre.
Gulled
A variation on The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, set in modern-day southern California. Gulled depicts the scenes we don’t see in the original play, but are implied.
